The 2007 Art
in the Pass festival is a very special event for Pass Christian.
This is the first festival since Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf
Coast and devastated Pass Christian. We are all excited to
have this wonderful event back in Pass Christian and hope that
everyone will join us March 31 and April 1, 2007.
Art in the Pass
is a two-day outdoor fine arts festival held at Pass Christian’s War
Memorial Park located at the corner of Scenic Dr. and Fleitas Ave.
overlooking the beach. Artists are juried to find a group of
talented artists in a variety of mediums including painting,
photography, print making, sculpture, pottery, fiber arts, glass
arts, woodworking and jewelry. Artists display and sell their work
to the public.
Art in the Pass
is a wonderful opportunity for artists to display and sell their
artwork on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Festival celebrates and
promotes fine arts in the community. Proceeds from the festival
benefit the Dot Hector Memorial Art Scholarship and other art
related programs deemed appropriate by the Art in the Pass
Committee.
Art in the Pass
is made possible through the hard work and dedication of community
volunteers and the donations of sponsors. The event is hosted by the
Pass Christian Chamber of Commerce. |

Artists...

Fire Jar - Yvonne Brown
The 2007
Artists were invited from the Artists who were selected for the 2005
festival, that was canceled due to Hurricane Katrina. The 2005
Artist applications were juried by a panel to find a group of
talented artists in the following mediums: painting, photography,
print making, sculpture, pottery, fiber arts,
woodworking and jewelry. We are happy to welcome all of the artists back
for this year's festival. Click here
for a list of artists participating in this year's festival.

Just for the
Kids... A
children's tent, sponsored by Michael's Arts and Craft Store, will be
featured at this years festival. The tent will have 'make and take'
activities for children to enjoy.
Silent Auction ... The Silent
Auction features original artwork from artists participating in the
Festival. A portion of the proceeds from the Silent Auction funds the
Dot Hector Memorial Art Scholarship. The $1000 art scholarship is given
to high school senior who is going to college to study art.
Festival T-Shirts ... Peter Briant designed the Art in the Pass
T-Shirt. Mr. Briant is a well-known New Orleans artist and part-time
Gulf Coast resident.

Entertainment...
BOBBY ALLISON
This will be Bobby Allison's fourth year headlining and emceeing Art
in the Pass. His soothing voice and diverse collection of songs has
been a crowd-pleaser and the festival is happy to welcome him back.
Bobby Allison, singer and
songwriter, has enjoyed a professional career that has spanned over
30 years. Like many performers, Bobby "paid his dues" at various
venues. In 1988, his hard work was rewarded with recording credits
and a contract with CBS/Epic records as a result of winning the
"True Value Country Showdown," to date, the worlds largest Country
Music Talent Contest! "Baby It's Because of You" co/written with
his wife Ernestine, was released by Epic Records in February 1988
and received national airplay, much along the Gulf Coast.
